Bi-curious is a word for someone who is curious about attraction to, or experiences with, more than one gender. It's often used by people who have mostly been attracted to one gender and are wondering about more.
The Meaning
"Bi-curious" sits between "I'm not sure" and "I know". It doesn't commit you to a label. It simply names a curiosity. Some people use it as a way of exploring safely, others as a step toward a clearer identity, and others because it describes exactly how they feel.
Is Bi-Curious The Same As Bisexual?
Not exactly. Bisexual describes a settled attraction to more than one gender. Bi-curious describes curiosity or exploration. For some people it eventually becomes bisexual, pansexual or another identity. For others it stays as it is. And for some, the exploration helps them realize their orientation is something else, which is just as valid.

Is It A Phase?
Curiosity can lead in different directions, but that doesn't make it less real. Some people discover a lasting orientation, and some don't. Treating someone's curiosity as "just a phase" can be dismissive, and a good community won't do that. What matters is that you're honest with yourself and with the people you meet.
